ZOOM MEETING TONIGHT @ 7 P.M.

***Students should begin working on the "WEEKS 5-6" (SEE BELOW) part of the project. I will be giving additional instruction and guidance in the ZOOM meeting to supplement the previously provided instruction and RURIC.

WEEKS 1-2:  (APRIL 20-MAY 1)  The information should be obtained through the research of a minimum of 5 DIFFERENT references/sources.  EACH RESOURCE CAN BE USED AS A SOURCE FOR A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) OF THE RESEARCH ITEMS The sources should be screenshot and submitted via EMAIL!!! (See “Getting Started” VIDEO)
WEEKS 3-4:  MAY 4-MAY 15)    Relevant information from the sources should be organized in bullet points on index cards (or a ½ sheet of paper). TAKE PICTURES OF THE CARDS (2 PER PHOTO) AND SUBMIT via EMAIL!!! (See “Creating Notecards” VIDEO)
\WEEK 5-6:  (MAY18-MAY 29)  Create a Google Slides Presentation (See “Creating Slides” VIDEO and Presentation RUBRIC).  Share the finished project via EMAIL!!!

Required Information:
  1. Population AND how that number ranks nationally.
  2. Number of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
  3. Climate – average seasonal temperatures, (Capital city/ not Capitol)
  4. Average annual rainfall, and snowfall, natural disaster threats for the Capital city.
  5. Bordering States, bordering countries (map?)
  6. Economy- What industries drive the state’s economy? Briefly describe the industries.
  7. State Capital, NOT Capitol 
  8. Major rivers, major lakes
  9. State bird
  10. State flower
MATERIALS DUE:
MAY 1 - Copies (screenshots) of the minimum 5 sources used to obtain required information  (50 POINTS) 
MAY 15 -10 index cards/1/2 sheets (PHOTOS) (with heading and information in bullet format.. (50 POINTS)
MAY 29 -GOOGLE SLIDES PRESENTATION - made up of 11 slides (100 POINTS)
***You will need an INTRODUCTORY/TITLE SLIDE and a ONE slide for each of the ten required items.

ZOOM MEETING TODAY @ NOON

-Check your school email for an invitation to the meeting.
-It is important that you reply to the email whether or not you are going to be available to attend the meeting.

We are beginning PHASE 2 of the project.  For the next two weeks, you should be working on making "notecards" from the data you have collected.  (See VIDEO below).


***I will be able to answer questions you have about PHASES 1 and 2 during our ZOOM meeting today

PHASE 1 (APRIL 20 - MAY 1)  due this Friday!
You should email me a minimum of 5 screenshots that are the references for your research.

***If you are looking to work ahead, below is a video that will help explain what I will be introducing in our Zoom meeting at noon today (April 27),  Notecards/ 1/2 sheet papers with your research notes on them are not due until Friday, May 15th.

STATE RESEARCH PROJECT  


Each student will be assigned a state to research (SEE APRIL 20 BLOG POST).  Below are 10 items that each student will be required to include in the research.

THIS A SUGGESTION FOR HOW TO DIVIDE THE 6 WEEKS OF TIME YOU WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.
